I absolutely love hiking in the Cascades and am really exicted that the Mountain Loop Highway is finally re-opening. It's a scenic highway that runs from Granite Falls to Darrington, past some of the best hiking within an hour or two of Seattle.
The road was largely washed out five years ago by severe floods and they've finally made repairs. There's a
big celebration this weekend to mark the occasion.
I can't wait to get up there. The climb to the summit of Mount Pilchuck is one of my favorite in the state.
Thank you so much for making the Big Climb for Leukemia such a big success.

I know it's never easy to get up on a Sunday morning, but more than 5,300 people not only did that, but they also climbed the stairs to the top of Seattle's tallest building. That's a record for turnout.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society could still use your help, however. They're trying to raise $1 million dollars and whether or not you climbed, you can help them reach that goal. Just visit the
society's web page to donate.
Thanks in advance!
