About Jay Kelly...

A former top rated morning personality in multiple markets and 35 year broadcast veteran (he started VERY young!) Jay Kelly is Program Director of 95.7 KJR-FM "Rock `N Roll's Greatest Hits."

Jay has been on-air and programmed top rated stations in many markets including Des Moines, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis and (for the past 17 years) Seattle.

Jay grew up on a ranch in Garden City, Kansas – riding horses, herding cattle and driving tractors. Five generations of his family have worked on the ranch and it's still family owned and operated. But Jay always dreamed of being on the radio – and his talent took him away from Kansas to larger markets and bigger opportunities.

While radio is his profession, Jay is a consummate outdoorsman. His hobbies include technical mountain climbing (both glacier and rock), backpacking and running. Jay has run several half-marathons and ran his first full marathon last June (San Diego's Rock N Roll Marathon – of course)! Jay is a two time "alumni" of Boulder Outdoor Survival School courses in desert survival (before the hit TV show made "survival" fashionable). He is an expert at field navigation and is certified in Mountaineering Oriented First Aid.

Jay loves the Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer: "I've gone backcountry snow skiing one day and ocean kayaked the next – and never left King County! There are not many places you can do that!"

Jay can be found "inside" on most weekdays – programming the legendary KJR-FM in Seattle.

On weekends you can hear Jay on the radio doing what he loves the best – playing Rock N Roll's Greatest Hits on 95.7 KJR-FM!

Living With Brain Injuries
Tuesday 07-22-2008 7:43am PT

Thousands of people suffer traumatic brain injuries every year. Life for them and their loved ones can be difficult as they try to regain their independence.

A new video helps them understand what to expect. The 30-minute documentary, called "Living With a Traumatic Brain Injury" chronicles the lives of four patients living with traumatic brain injury and shares information from experts at Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington about the effects of brain injury.

The documentary runs regularly on UWTV. You can also watch it online.

Asthma Camp Fundraiser
Tuesday 07-22-2008 7:34am PT
One of the things that I love best about the Pacific Northwest is all the outdoor activities. A special camp introduces children with asthma to the outdoors and it needs your help to continue.

The American Lung Association says the camp teaches children how to control their asthma. Not only does that allow them to enjoy the outdoors, they also miss less school.

Fundraising efforts, however, are running behind.

You can help by donating at the American Lung Association of Washington's web site.
What a Summer Concert Line-Up!
Wednesday 04-02-2008 12:31pm PT
The 95.7 KJR-FM concert listings just keep growing. It's going to be an incredible summer here: Tom Petty, the Doobie Brothers, James Taylor -- just a few of the great artists coming to town this summer.

And just this past week, we announced that the Steve Miller Band is coming to the Gorge, August 2nd.

Make sure you keep your radios set to 95.7 KJR-FM. You'll be the first to know when a new show is announced, and you never know when we'll give you a chance to win free tickets!
